Russia’s natural gas reserves are staggeringly vast, with categories A, B, and C1 totaling 48.8 trillion cubic meters, and C2 reserves adding another 19.6 trillion cubic meters. Together, these account for approximately one - third of the world’s proven natural gas reserves. This colossal resource base not only underscores Russia’s strategic importance but also forms the backbone of its energy export economy. The country’s extensive pipeline networks and liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities enable it to supply vast quantities of gas to Europe, Asia, and beyond, shaping energy security narratives across continents.
